Cheshire West and Chester Council new
site launched on April 1st
31st March 2009
The Unified Solutions team are very pleased to announce the
launch of the Cheshire West
website.
Cheshire West and Chester Council will be the fourth largest
unitary authority in the North West, giving it a powerful strategic
voice in the UK. With a population of 327,500, the area covered by
the new borough will include the major towns of Ellesmere Port,
Neston, Winsford, Northwich and Frodsham and the historic city of
Chester.
Alterian Gold Partner Unified Solutions was selected to
implement the Alterian/Immediacy WCMS as the technology
platform for the new web site. Public sector experience and bespoke
development skills set Unified apart from other Alterian Partners
and the site was live on 1st April despite the exceeding tight time
scale. As soon as the installation was complete, with very little
technical know-how, council editors started creating, managing and
controlling content for the new site immediately.
The Immediacy interface is intuitive and interacts with users
through a familiar, MS Word/Outlook-style user interface. So you
can get started right away. Using familiar tools Word or Excel, it
is easy to move content around and place it just where it’s wanted.
It is even possible to add content using drag and drop.
With the introduction of the new authority on 1st April,
residents will be able to access all Council services through one
approachable and responsive organisation. The vision -
Customer first, Value for Money, Best Practice -
highlights the Council’s ambition to place its stakeholders at the
heart of everything it does. Integral to this vision is the
new web site.
