Usability testing

There is a temptation to go to the creative phase very early in a website design project. After all, it is the part that gets everyone excited (and arguing!) as the project comes to life.

Getting the layout of your new website or Intranet wrong at the creative stage can be costly. Instead, Unified Solutions recommends using wireframes and mapping user journeys before any creative design work is carried out.

Clickable wireframes are also an easy way to test the usability of the emerging website. In our usability labs, Unified use our own test team or focus groups provided by our customers to validate whether the new site navigation and layout of the site will enable them to carry out various tasks. By recording the actions of our test users, we can refine the site navigation and layout until it works perfectly.
