Our InSite™ methodology has been refined over the past 16 years so it won't come as any surprise that we consider it to be the closest thing to a guarantee of success of our client projects. Working through a series of workshops with Unified, you will bring to life your target audiences and start to understand in detail who we will engage with. A complete set of user journeys will be developed with fully interactive tools so that we can jointly evaluate the results at every step of the way. This approach also lends itself to usability testing in our "usability laboratory" - a customised approach to validating that our designs are going to meet the objectives we set at the start.

A complete review of the information, messaging, brand, tone will lead us to decide how best to complete the user journey and fully engage your prospective customers and target audience fully. This process will also help us both identify the best channel(s) for engagement so we can start planning the build phase.

Before you commission the construction, there will be plenty of opportunities to review the details and the overall design to make sure it does what we set out to do at the start.

Information architecture

Getting site navigation right is essential. Given the most common complaint from Internet users is that they can't find what they are looking for, using our proven approach to "Information Architecture" design will deliver a highly usable site.

Usability testing

Creating the right layout is the next step from deciding on the navigation elements. There are some common usability best practice techniques we deploy at this stage, but every site is unique and has to work for the specific target audience. Wireframes and user journey mapping are powerful tools to get this stage spot on

Creative design

Creative design is, of course, what most people think of when they want to design a new site, or re-design an existing one. Given the solid platform built up using our InSite steps, we can go into this stage confident that we have everything else right and can concentrate on just the right "look and feel".

Content migration

Often overlooked, the migration of content is an essential part of the project. Unified Solutions provides the experience, skills and tools to support our customers through this sometimes challenging phase of the website design and build.

The fact that we built the site to specification, made it fully transactional, trained 80 content editors and launched on time and within budget is a testament to the extraordinary commitment and spirit of co-operation between the Council and Unified Solutions team

The College is a very complex and multi-faceted entity with a very diverse cross-section of stakeholders. I think the Personas exercise has been good in helping to understand the full scope here and to cross-check that the site meets the needs of these different stakeholders.
