Back in the days when people were talking on mobile bricks and starting to get to grips with this wibbly wobbly web thing, Tim and Pete got round a table to talk about how they could deliver a better solution experience. Although originally called "Green Table Software" due to the colour of that very table, the concept and name of Unified Solutions was born out of those meetings and Tim subsequently took on the role of Managing Director.
Having been told in no uncertain terms by Pete that he "couldn't code for toffee", fortunately Tim's skills and experience have subsequently proved invaluable to this role, allowing him to give up his attempts at getting a web page to say "Hello World".
Marie has spent her working life looking after people and her time at Unified (having help set up the company) has been no exception. From checking the latest raft of legislation, to organising the venue for the Christmas party, Marie ensures that our life at Unified Towers is as comfortable as possible.
If you want to try and convince Marie that you can provide Unified with the next recruit, you are welcome to try, but we do have a select number of agencies we use if we can't recruit through our normal channels so don't be suprised to get a very brief and short answer to your speculative drop of CVs.....
When he's not being a double for Kevin Keegan, Pete looks after all of our technical thingys and be-jangles. With a vast array of skills, Pete might be architecting a solution one week, getting down and dirty with some code another or doing what he loves best - building, configuring and generally mucking about with servers.
Emma joins us from the wide open spaces of New Zealand, looking for the sort of different experience that can be found here in the UK - as we've said before, our location provides a great base from which to go out and explore, so hopefully a Blog of Emma's exploits will follow soon! With a really good focus on the user experience, we know that Emma will bolster our front end design team bringing with her a wealth of useful and relevant knowledge.
Snehal is another recent recruit to the team and is affectionately regarded as 'the sponge' - soaking up as much knowledge as we can provide and then putting it to great effect whether its building a new component of a website, or providing support to our customers. Snehal joins us with both a great technical understanding of all things web-like as well as very practical implementation experience.
We always like to say that Andrew is ultimately responsible for delivering a solution to the complete satisfaction of our clients. We like to say this because it gets us out of the firing line. But, seriously, as a very seasoned and experienced professional, we can all rely on Andrew to get the job done and keep our customers happy.
Having the unenviable task of making sure our projects continue to come in on time and within budget, Joe works tirelessly to create, formulate, refine, redo, agree, negotiate and finalise for just one last time that all important project plan. You should see the wall behind his desk.....!
James C - to help us tell him apart from James B - has a rare ability to combine a creative flair with a technical skill in layout and design. Most people can only do one or the other well so we feel blessed to have James' talents on board and it's certainly proved invaluable to our clients in producing some pretty amazing websites.
Jason is one of the many who can no longer remember when he started at Unified - suffice to say that in that time, Jason has been instrumental in delivering a huge range of projects and always seems to know, intuitively what our customers want when it comes down to the finer details.
The fact that James can still remember our first office in Longford is an indication of a) just how long he's been with us and b) how good his memory is compared with everyone else. It also points to James' attention to detail - probably this came from his background in graphics design but since starting work with Unified, James has made the switch and become a leading light in the design, deployment and coding of our client solutions. Oh, and he's never forgiven Tim for the lessons on SQL.
If you start trying to ask Tanya about invoices or payment runs, don't be surprised by a very short and to the point answer, because it is the other Tania you need. If, however, you are talking about JQuery, Sitecore renderings, intricate SQL queries or other such technical malarkey then you are definitely talking to the right person.
Nigel is one of our newer recruits but has already fitted in so easily that it feels like he's been with us for years. Or, at least, that's what he said it felt like. Like the others in our professional services team, Nigel is happiest when talking systems architecture, or solving knotty issues with CMS configurations
Whether it is keeping a project under control, capturing requirements or refining a set of wireframes to describe a user journey, Asha likes nothing better than engaging with and talking to our customers. Well, a night out with the girls carrying a designer handbag, sporting a Gucci watch and wearing bling would come a close second.
Simon has had a varied career with a strong customer focus throughout and brings to bear all of his customer facing skills and experience. His experience spans telcom, call centre management, business development for Hewlett Packard, consultancy for Centrica and working for a UK startup within the telehealth sector.
Martin used to work for IBM. We were all a bit worried at first that Unified would be a big culture shock but, 3 years later we're all happy to say that the transistion to a - ahem - slightly smaller organisation has been pretty straightforward and both Unified and our customers benefit from Martin's worldly wisdom and experience.
